I don't think everything needs modded... there were several hours spent on developing the stock modules which is a building block if you feel a need to have them modded... but they sound great stock and don't have much problem getting the sound I want out of the stock modules.

The Ultra is the Randall sound in a module. It is Dimebag...

My UltraXL gets into Pantera territory. I think you still need to use an external EQ in order to get the scooped mids sound though.

We are mod crazy on here! and the addiction will NOT stop!!! :p

But anyway yes the Ultra or UltraXL which is the signature classic Randall metal tone is perfect for that

Didn't Dime use solid state amps? Why would there be a tube based amp/module to replicate the sound of a SS rig.

Because that is how Randall designed the preamp of this module. It is stated in the youtube vid that Randall did about this module.

i got the RG100HT SS amp and it's the one Dime used for CBH and Southern, and used them live quite a bit afterwards too. get's me in the Pantera tone no problem!! love it!

If you want to make it more authentic...scoope the **** and boost the Ultra with an SD-1 for that real SS fizz \m/

He used to tun the warheads for look on stage but was plugged into other amps backstage, :)

the Warhead was a terribly unreliable amp
i think he actually did play his X2 though

lets see if i can remember some

Randall RG100HT - CBH, Southern Trendkill(used 4 amps with MXR 6 band EQ and a furman PQ)

Randall Century 200 -

Randall Warhead(Prototypes used on Reinventing The Steel) - Used on stage as props - Dime never liked the finished version of these amps

Randall warhead X2 - actually used this one live for awhile

Krank Krankenstein - Used this one with Damageplan on tour

MXR Flanger Doubler
MXR 6 Band EQ
Furman PQ Series

i know i missed a few but im rushing, lol. if you want to know more send me a pm and i'll get you all the info and settings i can

Ditto - Pantera No Problem with a RG100ES and EQ !!

I love mine & its loud as HELL with a Punishing Crunch no pedals needed !

a tech fixed the "bleed thru" issue by taking out the footswitch and made the channels switchable from the front via a toggle switch.

works great I can have any combination of green/red tones desired and by setting the gain down on one channel the other channel has no bleed thru at all and sounds amazing.

If you play "Chunk Chunk" music you can't beat this amp IMHO

Just a quick chime in here . . .

For the price of a modded module to get a Pantera sound . . .

you can buy the actual amp for probably less ;)

RG100HT SS amp..
I have one of these and its a great cool amp. hard to believe its SS...this is one of the SS amps that could fool alot of people..and without pedals it does a great distorted sound.
Add the Furman Para-EQ and you are into Vintage Dimebag.

Bleed thru due to the footswitch?
Odd, especially if it was remedied by just using another switch
