Jaded Faith also has the PV VIL. No official threads on it yet, but it is out there.

^^ Yes, I have both the S1S0 and the PV VIL. Haven't had enough time to head-to-head them, but they are both amazing.

The only reason I didn't mention Jaded Faith's is because the OP mention 5150 II and, from my understanding, JF's module is based off a self-modded original 5150 block letter model.

You are correct, mine is based on 2 original Block Letter 5150's that I modded for local guitarists here in NJ. It was tested head to head with both amps and performed quite well.

It's still pretty new with only 1 in circulation and more coming soon.

That's cool.. Me and my Dad build tube amps and thought it would be fun to to try to turn a 1086 into an actual 6505 plus.. so far the problem is that 2 of the gain stages are in the head itself and without modding the head it is difficult to get the preamp exactly right.. We had to change one stages into a cathode follower and that made a huge difference in tone.. We are still working on getting it right though..

Alright man! You sound like a guy who knows how to do this stuff....Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Well, the problem with these modules is that the low end no matter what you seem to do to them sounds hollow.. Like the low end is being blended over the tone like a blanket on a bed.. I personally think it has a lot to do with the way the stages set up into each other.. Amps like Camron and Forten and Deizel which I think are just killer all seem to have the same thing in common.. The bass seems like it is part of the tone, not wrapped around it and it's really tight sounding.. I did a mod for my 6505 plus that made it really tight and thick but it was a lot of work, not like just changing a resister here and a cap there.. It was really involved.. I know that these modules have a great potential I just have to keep grinding at it until I get it.. I Will post clips when I get it right..

Very cool....I would be curious to hear the Modded 6505,Im not a fan of the stockers at all.....I'd also be interested ot hear the JF 5150..the clips Ive heard of the S1SO sound better than a 5150,much cleaner...

Well, I think we've just about got it down.. Just have to get the gain as high.. The tone is there but with the new circuit the gain isn't as much because we are trying to get it all in the module and not to have to touch the amp itself.. We are close though..

Okay guys, never mind the playing.. I am playing like crap today but here are 2 clips one double tracked dry, guitar, chord, head cabinet mics, the other the same except I added reverb and delay in protools and just did some improv lead stuff.. I had to deviate from the 6505 circuitry because I didn't want to mod the head itself so, It's not exactly what I was hoping for but sounds pretty good to me. Let me know what you think.. Joel
