So i was at my parents sorting threw some old junk, and found a bag of poly fill. I've been to lazy to carry my big cab home from church, and well it's to loud for home anyways. My 1x12 tube works cab sounds good but not great. I stuffed the whole bag of poly fill in the back of my cab and wow, it cleaned up the raspies and added punch!

i fill like the poly fill reduced the speaker efficiency, is that typical? Which really is a good thing in my opinion!

Briefly,
Speakers make sound in two directions, front and back.
The sound coming from the back is 180 degrees out of phase with the front
and cancels it. That's why a speaker out of the cabinet doesn't sound loud at all. By filling the back of the cabinet, you cancelled the out of phase sound from the back. Makes it sound much more like a closed back cabinet which makes it sound more like a....................Marshall.
