I know that this has been discussed before but...Today when I got home and attempt to fire up my amp...nothing! all lights are on but no sound. When I looked at the back the tubes are not lit. I've looked at the fuses and they seem to be fine. including the 5 that I found inside. Any suggestions?

Put a multimeter on those fuses, they can look ok and still be blown. You're not going to know for sure unless you test them.

Right, also make sure the amp is turned off and unplugged when you test the resistance of those fuses.

There are a lot of people that don't realize you can't test ohms on energized gear.

Well, checked them all (fuses), and they were fine. Switch a few that looked "old" and nothing. What next? Am I really screwed here? By the way the 3 preamp tubes by the input all light up. Is the power amp tubes that don't work.

Thanks a lot,
Alex

All the fuses checked at 0 ohms? Btw, there are 7 fuses inside the amp. two hide under the Midi board that supply the B+ power.

This is what I was going to say.
This seems to be a frequent problem actually.

Like was said check the fuses under the midi board.

Mine popped the other day for the 2nd time.
Seems like that happens if you don't give the amp plenty of warm up time.

Thanks, didn't know about those but unfortunately they're good. Yes I get a 0 read. By the way are they 6A or ? I've found a few different ones inside. Which ones are they supposed to be? If it comes to worst, do you know who can fix this in Los Angeles?? I'm close to Dave Friedman but I don't know if he's into fixing amps...

Thanks,
Alex

This happened to me once. What I did was check all of the spade connectors to make sure that they were seated properly. Also, I reseated all of the tubes. Everything works fine now. You may also want to reseat your modules.

Good Luck

Well, got it fixed. Took it to Dave F. and got it back within two days. He check the whole thing and fixed a few things that he called "weird from the factory". Got new tubes, etc. Awesome so far. He also mod my Mr. Scary and "fixed"/mod my Grail to what's supposed to be. I just got a Brahma and will take it to him. Dave's a great guy and knows a ton. And specially these amps. Knows them inside out. Sorry to sound like an infomercial. Thanks for the help.
