RM22HDX: new user questions

Hi -
Just picked up a RM22HDX and still playing around with it. I had several questions:
- I noticed there are 3 preamp tubes, what are these for?
- Has anyone tried EL844 in these to help reduce the volume?
- Can you explain the boost gain/level to me? How is this different from the gain on the mts modules?
- Mine didn't come with a footswitch, any idea where to get one or compatible ones?

Sorry for all the questions, but really excited for this amp and some more modules!

Do you know where can I get a replacement footswitch for the RM22?
I called Randall the other day and they said they might have it back in stock a couple of months from now.
