RM4 into RM50 Combo

If I run an RM4 into return on back panel do I need at least one module in rm50 or would master volume,presense work without a mod.I would have mods in rm4

You don't need any mods in to use the series fx return.

You don't need any mods in there, but I noticed that it sounds different, when you plug the RM4 into the poweramp return of the heads. I plugged my RM4 into the return of a Lynch Box head to try out some Lynch modules and to compare them with my modules in the RM4 and found that the same modules, when placed in the head sounded significantly better - even when everything was set at the same volume.
