Synergy SYN-5050 vs SYN-50 HEAD

Has anyone compared the Synergy SYN-5050 Rackmount vs SYN-50 Head with their modules? Are there tonal differences between the two? Don't they have different power transformers? Thanks!

Now the Synergy 50 Head is reduced to $1599, I'm kind of excited to try one...heard the SYN5050 is kind of sterile/neutral.

I don’t find it sterile at all, curiously enough. I couldn’t ditch my Power Station fast enough, once I compared it head to head with the Synergy. I do wish it ran EL34s sometimes, but I’m quite happy with what I hear in the 5050.

The heads look very cool, and the EL34 capability does appeal to me more than 6L6. I would expect that in a head format it has different transformers too but I haven’t been able to dig up much detailed info. Probably built by the same company though, I’m sure.
