did it lose the ability to clean up like it does in stock form? I talked to Dave about it, and he says there's a couple things missing, component-wise, in the stock Scary that he adds, basically giving the module more gain and low-mid growl. That sounds great, but I don't want to lose the ability to back off the gain for plexi-ish tones. My Friedman-modded SL+ sounds fantastic for balls out gain, but that's all it does now. There's no low to mid-gain tones now.

So, how's the Friedman Mr. Scary mod do with lower gain stuff?

It still cleans up well with the guitar volume control, with gain set 12 o'clock or below..set higher, the tone really starts to compress a lot...all of my pickups are pretty high output 'buckers.

Same here. It cleans up great. Of course the gain has to be at a descent level. Meaning that it won't clean as well if you have the gain all the way up.

Hope this helps.
