just me but when using a tube amp especially a good one bbe's and aural exciters aren't needed :idea:

I am firmly against BBEs, tone sucking P.O.S.

the effects knob is for the parrallel loop and turing it up with nothing in the parrallel loop seems to bring on more mids i would say, almost like a second presence knob. to make a real comparison on the bbe vs. none you 'd have to unhook it all together and play vs just powering on and off. it has an effect just by being in the loop. good luck with it though i know lots of people love em i know i did when i played solid state randalls

I had a Modded Recto and it was awesome. I then bought the Grail module and they sounded damn near same tone. I sold the Recto and Kept the grail. Now I bought the Egnater Erect and selling the Grail. Always searching for that next better tone. Never ends.....
