I bet the first modded to offer a weight reduction mod will bank. If you change the power transformer from an EI type to toroidal most of the weight will be gone. The tricky part just adjusting the power supply, toroidals are more efficient and have less magnetic leakage. I bet someone could even sell a kit, maybe transformer and drop in power supply board? If someone could just tell me which transformer to use and where to get it I would try it myself, I've built simple amps before.

Great idea nomad... I sold my lynchbox 100 cause I hurt myself stretching to put it in my car. 80;lbs is just to heavy. The RM50 is my limit weight wise...

When your friend who works construction for a living and has muscles yelps when he picks it up, what chance do wimpy guitarist have :D. 90% of the reason i bought the mark V, even though i've concluded the rm100 sounds better in many areas.
