I may audition of a new country band (more rock in the mix) and play songs like Trace Adkins HonkyTonk Bedonkedonk, and other great material... (like Big and Rich...)
does anybody use MTS stuff for this? What mods are getting it done for you?

I guess Blackface for sparky clean tones! (I really dig it much)
top boost is cool too with gain set low.

Yea, the Top Boost is a good idea. Lot's of country dudes using EL84 based amp these days liek Vox and Dr Z. Get a Keeley compressor and a great OD liek a TS9 type and those two modules will get you pretty far.

I've done a gig recently backing a singer which included some new country tunes. The Deluxe works great for that country spank. I also used my Brown and 1086 with the gain turned way down to get that Keith Richards low gain breakup, you may want to just turn down the gain on your existing modules and control the clean by rolling off your guitar volume knob.

Tung is right for sure. Plus, newer country who knows? I feel like you could crank a daggone JCM800 and play with a lot of stuff today. But traditional hot pickin I am thinking Deluxe or Top Boost. When I play country I play it with my JTM45 module gain rolled back...

The Super V has some great jangly spanky gain in it...it'd definitely be a contender, if not the first one I'd check into for the grittier new country tones.

I mix a Tweed and Top Boost (with a 12AU7 in it to clean it up).

Thanks guys...I think I will use a Deluxe, TopBoost, Pexi and Brown. That should cover it. I still hate the weight of my rig..but the tones are usually cranking!!
PS: I am surprized that guys still use Tube screamers when we have our Plexi (and more so, BROWN) modules sounding as good as they do.
