I've been thinking more and more about getting a mic eliminator... whats a good one to use and where can I order it?
Does the randall one hold it's own and can it be ordered seperatly?

Another option for you is to grab a Hot Plate and use the line out and a cabinet speaker impulse. This won't require any rewiring of your cabinet, and it will give you silent recording when set on "Load", but remember the deep and high switches work opposite with the line out (so off is on and on is off).

Or you can use a cabinet modeling plugin like Cabinet from Audio Ease: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Cabinet/

The cool thing about this is you get a rotary model.

Thanks Julia... I'm not a fan of the Hot Plate... I'm looking for a direct box such as the Palmer of the Red Box and am also looking into the Randall Mic Eliminator which was initially supposed to come with the Lynch Box Cabs.

Anyone have the Randall unit? any comments you would like to share.

Best comparison full of informations, clips, details etc.

my personal meaning - Behringer is the BEST, because is cheapest and in same bad level as the other more expensive ones :)
HW eliminators are joke in comparison with good IR impulse (redwirez.com, recabi.net etc) OK, in concert can be "first aid" but nothing more (....only my experiences)
I had Carl Martin Rock Bug and it is same......

I use the Randall myself. The only issue i have with it is that you have to crank the volume to get a good level to the sound guy. And since i use attenuators so that i don't blow out the back wall of wherever i am playing it gets kinda hairy. They sound great but be aware of the volume issue.

+1. Behringer is the best and wouldn't you know it, they were discontinued...LOL.
I have a Red Box Classic and it's kind of bright. I also have a DMC CabTone which is a little dark, but both can be fixed with a little EQ. I don't use either anymore since switching to IRs a few years ago.

I'm going back to my Behringer Ultra-G's when my new LynchBox RM50 comes...

Peavey also makes one that hasn't been mentioned yet... you can get it external... or internal with the JSX cab, and some amps....

On that link I picked the Red Box Classic. I wasn't too fond of the amp settings though. Needed more mids!!
