Has anyone tried the Zakk Wylde Overdrive Pedal?

And has anyone tried it with the MTS amps?

I'm looking for a little extra grit to my sound.

dude dont... this is over rated , the way he works that pedal is to turn a marshall amp into something heaveyer. he turns his amp gain almost off and cranks his pedal giving hims a subtle valve sound on a mostly pedal setup. if you got a tube amp that doesnt blow chunks your distortion should come through hard if you need some extra thud add a eq through the signal that will give it that extra pow your looking for. to bad for zack his marshall cant do what he wants it to do. but you on the other hand got a wicked amp and can make that thing do whatever you want.

I won the pedal and i can say that i love its tone, its a very creamy distortion, however i am about to take it out of my rig because of a couple reasons...
1 its noisy as ****
2-it boosts the distortion but not the perceived volume

but its a **** awesome tone that i will be using in the studio

Zakk??? Pedal distortion??? You couldn't be more wrong.

Zakk cranks the gain on his JCM800, but since thats a midgain vintage amp, he needs the overdrive to send it over the edge. The pedal also gives a MAJOR boost in sustain, raging harmonics and best of all, it REALLY tightens up your pick attack! Even durring the most shreddyest solos of all, EVERY note is heard.

The pedal IS loud though. But thats the only real drawback.

less than 9 oclock on the distortion, sometimes barley on, this pedal adds exactly what I like for screaming harmonics

yea, i just use it as a booster for get more pick attack n bit more overdrive for soloing
for me the gain n tone are usually less than 9 o'clock and crank the output

I tried one... actually bought one and brought it back... the DOD YJM is better IMHO the BBE Green Screamer is better again... and is what I currently use.

The dod yngwie is a cool pedal, but this apples & oranges

If you're playing a les paul and Marshall type heacy gain, the Zakk MXR is perfect. It's basically a variation on the Boss Super drive which everybody uses and loves

The Yngwie has a really cool vibe with my strat, but falls way short with the les paul in comparison to the mxr. Conversely, I don't like the MXR withy my strat at all

I think this is very guitar and style dependent, both are very cool in their own ways

I am very curious about this green bbe...
