I sometimes use the eq's in my old alesis quadraverb in the loop of my RM100. It works pretty well for a cheap unit.
I also have an old BBE sonic maximizer that works good if you dont overuse it.
I run JJ EL34L on the outside and Tung sol 5881 on the inside of my RM100. the 5881's opened it up a little and added a little bass. Feels less compressed. Still roars with the treadplate and 1086.
Want to try 6550 or KT88's with the EL34L's next but funds are short right now.
Hey welcome abord.
I'm a new user too (Since August) and this board is a wealth of knowledge and some awesome people here. Dont be afraid to ask any questing because there is allways someone here who knows the answer!

could you set it up like people do with the c3 bass switch?
Have a 3 way switch toggling three caps.
one less mids, one original mids, and one more mids?
not sure what the 3 cap values would be.
i think this would be easier to install than a pot.
I agree with 1086.
I have 1086, Treaplate modded to Grail, and SL+.
With the 1086 I can do everything that the SL+ can do an more. Also it sounds more open/alive than the SL+ to me.
I have tried tube swapps and boosting but I just cant get my SL+ to sound as good as the 1086.
Hey guys,
New to the forum. Been a Randall user for about 6 months now.
Was wondering how similar the Treadplate and Modern modules are.
All the sound clips I here of them sound alot alike.
Thanks,
Josh
