I have just taken receipt of a secondhand blackstripe Plexi that produces a very low output.
I've tried it in every slot in my RM100, swapped tubes, tubes are lighting up ok. I read here that different versions of modules sometimes don't seat properly due to a change in the dimensions of the PCB, so I compared it to my other blackstripe modules and that looks fine.
Inspecting the module, nothing appears to be physically broken or burnt out.
With the master volume around 5, I can get a reasonable late night volume out of it, so I've been able to check that all knobs seem to function smoothly & normally. No crackling or sudden jumps when turning the pots.
It's just that I have to max the vol. & crank the gain on the Plexi and turn the vol. down to around 1 on my other modules to balance things out.
Any ideas on what might be up with it?
