Ive got a modded kh-3 that nails the tone off of Ride the Lightning on one side of a switch and hits the Black Album on the other side of the switch... I purchased the module about a year ago and it had a homemade switch which on one side Hit the RTL tone pretty well but the other side of the switch had a tone that was so bassy and fizzy that it was completely unuseable! So i sent it off to Rob to tweak the RTL tones, Tune the 2nd channel to match the main tone used on the black album and install a new switch.. the results were killer it will nail any tone from either of those two albums with ease! Im wondering if there is any interest in this module, I might be willing to part with it for the right price/trade

I might do some clips if anyone is interested!

Ill post some clips of some classic metallica tunes from both era's today but remember i am working with a 99$ tascam handheld recorder which does a good job but is definatly not up to the usual quality...

Since the Black Album was mainly a Mesa-sound, does that module cover Master of Puppets or ...And Justice for All tones too at all?

If you can, play some Puppets or Justice riffs in your demo please

Seems I remember reading James used a Mark III with a Boss SD1 on Puppets. Or was it Justice? Heck I cant remember. haha

For MOP, I remember reading it was the preamp of a Mark IIC+ run through the power section of a Marshall.

Ok sorry folks i tried recording some clips of this mod but i could not get anything that comes close to doing this mod justice with my handheld recorder... If you are looking for a mesa tone this module will nail a specific mesa tone and that is the tone from "enter sandman" its 99% accurate to the tone on that song, the RTL setting is also very close to about any of the tunes on that album, the song i had rob model it after was "call of kthulu" (best instrumental ever"...
