RM100 question

I have a treadplate module, and Modern module in my RM100. I play extremely heavy metal stuff. I've been using the Modern as my main rhythm with my Boss ME-50 for a lead boost. However, it's not sounding quite up to par in some ways.
I'm thinking of using the Boss distortion pedal in front of the treadplate for rhythm. I'd like to then switch to the Modern for a lead boost. But I want a delay on it. I don't want to hit two pedals to achieve my lead sound. Is there any way to have it where a delay is always running on the Modern channel (channel 3) without affecting the other channels? I'm clueless when it comes to midi. I thought there might be a solution there?

Yes it's possible to do that w/ MIDI but the BOSS ME-50 dosen't have the correct in/outs to support MIDI switching. You might want to check out it's bigger brother the GT-8 or I'm sure you can find a deal on the older GT-6. Both of these will let you do the MIDI switching you want to do and will also allow you to put OD/Dist and Wha before the preamp.

I was hoping to use something rackmountable for that, since I'll just be leaving it on. Really? I should put the distortion before the preamp (like in the fx loop)? I thought that was just for modulation effects.

You could check out the new Digitech GSP-1101 (I think that's the right model number). It's rack mountable, will do MIDI switching, and has the same routing funtions for putting FX in the right order.

I think you might be a little mixed up on the signal chain. An FX Loop is between the Preamp and Power Amp and is where you would put any modulation and time based FX. OD and Wha would go before the Preamp (before the input of the RM100). ah, no I knew that. I just mixed up when you said "before the preamp" to mean in the loop. I forgot that that means in front of the amp. That's why I was thrown for a loop when you said it.
