Ultra XL Gain Loss

I've been using the UltraXL for down tuning and the other day the gain dropped and it doesnt have the same response anymore. The gain is still there but I have to max it out now where as before about 1 O'clock was plenty. Whats going on? Should I replace a tube? and which one should I replace? The amp isnt very old... about 6 months.

A pre tube would be my first guess,that is in the module,try changing one at a time some you can find the problemed tube

This seem to be happenning a lot lately with some modules. Check your preamp tube first. i've seen a 1086 went down completely to no gain

I would also check your input tube on the amp's chassis near the input jack. That one is always the first to go bad on my amp.
