I was just checking out clips of the Red channel at the Bogner site and I get tones just like it. If any difference, it's in the gain, but I use a boost anyway to help compress a little.

Just sayin', because of how others have mentioned the XTC isn't like the real Ecstacy. Anybody else find this to be accurate or am I just delusional?

I think the problem i had with the XTC compared to my old Bogner gear is the lack of versatility. I will say that the XTC does sound like a red channel within certain EQ settings and gain settings. But if you want any sound that is not scooped mids with gain up past 3 O'clock then it starts to show its flaws. Just my opinion.

Peace, Joshua

So the XTC is basically limited to what it can emulate vs. the XTC red channel? That makes sense. Thanks!
