There is a new version of the MHG with more upper mids/highs I think is the difference. Mine says EG5 on it. I haven't spent enough time with mine yet to give a good review, but I can in a few days. It definitely has more gain, a tighter low end and a tighter OD than my SL2.

Another thing I like about it is that if your amp were to die, you can plug that thing straight into the board and still get usable sounds for the gig. Nice bit of a redundancy that you don't generally get with rack mount effects units.
