    both channels at once? RM50

If I remember correctly: yes you can! Selecting channels on/off by CC it is possible. Most effective when using a light boost module in slot #1. The modules are in series. Maybe a matter of time we can welcome a post-equalizer module, like the Mesa Mark series, in the last slot or a boost module...

    RM50 with JJ6v6?

JJ/Tesla are the only 6V6 that can handle the plate voltage of Randall/Egnater. To me 6V6 sounds like a Marshall poweramp pushed into overdrive. Good at home, but in rockband less attack, less dynamics, less volume.

    1X12 cabs

I had a Bogner Cube V30 and a CL80. Although it was probably the best sounding cab at home at low volume it was completely blown away in a band mix by a Thiele/EV200. My best sound so far was a mix of Thiele/EV200 and a M/B Recto 2x12 combination and a Laboga 3x12 (1xEV,2x V30).

    6550, which brand?

My background: for EL34 I prefer the Svetlana =C= having the most crunchy mids. Which brand 6550 does have the most crunch to it? EH, Sovtek, Svetlana, Tung Sol, JJ/Tesla?

    Resonance/Presence modding to speaker specs

I am thinking about a mod to match the Resonance and Presence knobs frequency of the poweramp/head to the resonance and presence peak of my speakers. In theory this most be the most effective frequency to dial in or out. Any comments/thoughts?

Any tonal advantage to running 3 RM4s versus an RM1250?

My vote for seperated preamps. I use 2 M4's with a Soundsculpture Switchblade. You can pan M4#1 to the left and M4#2 to the right. Or double it etc... I use it for example Bman to the left and SL to the right. Erect to the left and 1086 to the right. You get the picture. Isn't possible with 1250.

    Winged C EL34's!

Svetlana =C= EL34 is imo 'the best' EL34. Nice upper mid crunch like no other tube has! E34L for more low end. KT77 for 'bigger' and 'bolder' less agressive sound.

    M4 with VHT 2/50/2?

I prefer this combo over the Egnater MOD50 and MOD100! Never preferred the poweramp section of Egnater. Even the Rocktron Velocity Valce 19" poweramp (by Egnater) has (ofcourse) the Egnater voicing. Voicing is thick, less punchy bass and less high end = vintage. Nothing wrong with that. VHT...

    Head vs. combo

Soundwise I guess no difference. The combo is very heavy. Not to mention when you want aftermarket EVM speakers in it. Converting a combo into a head is also no solution bacause than you have your new head upsidedown in the headcase...

REVIEW: Salvation MatchVox vs Egnater VX

REVIEW: Salvation MatchVox vs Egnater VX by Edwin, march 2012 Looks: My MatchVox was born as a dual Egnater module. The classic/boost switch on the single MatchVox design has been translated on my dual module to channel A (classic) and channel B(boost). The original 3-way toggles for Bright...

    New Egnater Modules

Since 2006 I have all dual Egnater modules. Also most of the Randall ones. Since 2011 modules from Salvation. It's my personal opinion Randall and Egnater modules have a 'signature' brand sound that starts to annoy over a while. A few friends in The Netherlands we did a meeting and they feel the...

    New Egnater Modules

To be honest it's only nice for the donor module market. The 10 Salvation modules I have heard and tested so far beats the **** out of the Egnater modules. No doubt at all. If Egnater want's to keep the soul alive make a pcb board donation ;-)

Output tubes EL34's- Svetlanas, positive review

I tried lots of tube type and different brands of them. The Svetlana Winged C is by far my favourite EL34. They have a crunch in mid-high frequencies that's unique. Only very expensive...

Randall Plexi vs JTM, SL+, Egnater SL

I did buy a few nos Randall's for modding including a Plexi. But the Plexi won't see a solder iron!

Randall Plexi vs JTM, SL+, Egnater SL

Yesterday I demo-d some modules to a customer. I have a/b-ed his Randall JTM, SL+, Plexi to my Egnater SL. I was really surprised by the Randall Plexi. To be honest I think this one is the best Marshall module of Randall and beats the Egnater SL! Plexi is more organic, more open. SL does have...

    review DReadplate in text

Review SalvationMods.com DReadplate by Edwin, october 2011 Looks First impression while unboxing the module: clean soldering, added features on the pcb-board are carefully done. Not surprising the frontpanel is Rectifier style. If your wife says the frontpanel looks cool it must be cool...

    Preamp S.A.G. tubes.

I did sell the GT SAG tubes and did test and compare them myself in modules from clean to distorted. To my honest opinion it is soundwise better (and cheaper) to buy the tubes you like. For instance Tung Sol as a 'budget' tube and TAD E83CC as a high end tube. If you want to lowering the gain...

Which modules (stock or mod) for 80's hair metal?

80s hair rock/metal for me is primairlily not Rectifier, but ADA MP-1 (most agressive), hotrod Marshall and Soldano (more compressed, less grainy, thinner/tighter than Marshall). Remark: Rectifier and Soldano seems to be technically close to each other. A boosted Rectifier is also soundwise an...
