I just received my Fisch & XTC LE. I was the guinea pig for Scott modding dual channels and these gave him some trouble, but they were worth the wait. The Fisch is Strato on CHA and Brown on CHB and it's as good, if not better than, my original Fisch. The XTC LE is broken down into Blue and Red on separate channels. I just played with them for a couple hours, but both are tremendous. I'll be jamming most of the day and figured why not load the amp full of Bogner.

Scott also supplied me with some faceplates for a few modules. Thanks, Scott for all the hard work. Everything came out great.

Those faceplates are hot stuff. I've never tried the Fisch, but the XTC LE is one of my very favorite modules. It basically never leaves my VP4. I'm soon to be the owner of a CC30, which will make a total of five of Scott's mods in my collection. The guy's a wizard.

Scott does great work and these are no exception. The faceplates were a long back and forth conversation between myself and Scott. We wanted them to be similar to each other, like The Bully and MK22. It's hard to see, they're very hard to photograph, but the XTC LE is outlined in blue to match the Fisch.

Hopefully we can work out our schedules and you can come by and try out the modules. I just swapped in and biased some JJs, 6L6 on the outside and EL34 on the inside. I don't know why I stray from that in the 100w heads. That is one reason I prefer the 100w to the 50w, the mixture of the two is the best of both worlds. Having to decide in the 50w always gives me a headache. I think I'm going to play around with KT77 & KT88 in a 50w later today. I'm not satisfied with either EL34 or 6L6, compromises abound.

Off to run some errands and then back for some jamming and woodshedding, I need massive woodshedding.

Thanks for posting Drew!

It's funny because Drew was willing to ship his M4 to me so I'd be able to test the modules he ordered. Coincidentally, a m4 popped up in the classifieds about the same time, and I knew I had to have it. We both knew it was going to be a lengthy process, since I'd have to trace the dual channel module. All in all it wasn't too different from the single channels. But for the Fisch donor I kept overlooking a mistake I had made that was hidden in plain sight...lol. Once I realized my dumb mistake I was able finish the mod without issues.

Fortunately, from Drew's modules, I had gained an intimate working knowledge of the dual channel platform. Their functionality is very inspiring and it led to some creative ideas I'd like to implement in future dual channel mods. The kind of mods that would make a rig more convenient for the live-on-stage player.

Drew was a champ throughout the whole ordeal and I'm very grateful his patience didn't wear too thin.
Thanks again Drew! I'm happy you like the mods and thanks again for trusting me to get them done.

Cool. I hope you are enjoying the new tones.
Scott any chance you could elaborate on the ideas for the dual mods you're thinking of?

Now you're just missing a dual Afterlife. Scott originally wanted the mid switch to turn it into a more hot rodded Marshall tone. With a dually, I'm sure he could do a lot more with it in terms of versatility between the channels.

By the way, how much does the Shiver differ from the Fisch and XTC?

I'm not much of an Uber-guy, so the Afterlife isn't on my radar. The Shiver has the best clean of the bunch, unfortunately that's not what I use any of these modules for. The Facelift mode (CHB) on the Shiver is somewhat similar to the Brown (CHB) of the Fisch. I suppose that shouldn't be too much of a surprise, but they do have their differences. The Shiver is the most organic of the bunch, the Red on the XTC is the gainiest of the bunch. I suppose, all in all, they stay pretty true to the originals they were intended to replicate.

Hey Drew,

Wow...What a nice set of mods...Not only pretty but I'm sure they are insane sounding pieces of work...Is it wrong that I just like looking at that pic?

Now, go get those Salvo upgrades and really hear those beauties for what they can be!

Very nice haul...It's clear you think long and hard before placing your dualie orders...Everything thus far has been ultra cool...

I have a couple modules with Anthony right now and a board for a MOD50 and MOD100 on order. I'm going to be cheap and have him ship them out with the modules. So, it might be a while before I get them.

Scott,
When are you gonna fire up the bench again?

Sorry I missed the other day. I probably won't come back until after the summer. But things could change to where I'm able and comfortable coming back sooner. I have a recording project that I'd like to start and possibly finish this year.

Thanks!
