Just guessing, but it sounds like something's loose. Does it have a removable back panel? I had to take the panel off my 2X12 cab because it vibrated.

I have a Topboost that Sacredgroove modified with Orange Drop caps and the reduced gain mod and the clarity is amazing. I bought it a few years ago. If you get a Topboost, I definitely recommend sending it to him.

I have my presence control at around 4:00. Anything less and it sounds muddy and dark to me. That always bugged me, because on every other amp I've ever played with a presence control, I've never had it past 1:00. My RM100S is one of the first ones made, btw.

My Brahma had the same problem, though not quite as severe as yours. I still haven't fixed it. I found that removing the knob and tightening the screw helped temporarily.

The Blackface does take pedals well. I sometimes use distortion pedals with it, such as the Radial Hot British. Sounds great. Just set the Blackface for a flat EQ (mids, highs, lows at about 12 o'clock). I also use a Bad Monkey and a Keeley Time Machine to boost the dirty modules. Sounds...
