Anybody ever compared the JF Voxless to the stock JTM?

Yeah, singles and lower output neck buckers seem to be where the Vox and Matchless amps shine in general imo. All the gain can be controlled with your attack then, which can be a lovely rewarding experience.

    FS/FT: RM4 Sold!

I have an RM4 that isn't seeing any use and it makes my heart hurt because it reminds me I don't have time to play with others anymore. It has seen a fair share of use from it's previous owner. It also has the shaft of the effects loop mix knob broken, though it does still work if you can manage...

Corrected Brahma clips out there at all?

Rob, thanks for the heads up from an official modder. I honestly think my/your R-verb with the gain at half sounds better for that old school british crunch than most actual Marshalls I've played. It also has more depth of tone at and easier to control volume in my rm20 than the Tiny Terror and...

Corrected Brahma clips out there at all?

Yeah. According to Dave Freidman they never built it to spec. I'm just wondering how different it is from a typical plexi sound. I can ballpark it with the SL+ with the gain down, and the R-verb in the lower gain setting. Neither do the cleans all that easily with buckers though. I know the...

Corrected Brahma clips out there at all?

I'm really curious about an want to try out the corrected Brahma. Unfortunately we all know how cash flow is at the moment. I want to hear a few clips, but I've scoured the net with no results. Usually my google-fu is in prime shape too. My SL+ with modern/800 switch and my R-Verb probably both...

Best/Favorite speakers to use with modules

My modules can be seen in my sig. I use a Scumback h75. Thanks to Rod for the speaker and the recommendation on it. It sounds awesome all the way across the board for just about anything. I also have a 212 cab with a Celestion V-30 and a WGS ET65 that I really love, but I hardly touch it any...

Demo video for the Mark X mod

I really need to find another donor module. Like ASAP. I still have 2 I'm saving up for to send to rob, possibly with a 3rd in tow. Both these vids are making me wanna skip one of the others for now, and just get the Mark X. Metal Guy, how do you like your Dominion? Did you keep the stock '59...

Picking up my Tele on Saturday!

Teles and esquires are the only Fender guitars I really enjoy (not basses, yet to find one I don't like.) I much prefer maple on them too, with a nice ash body. I should pick me up a tele some time... I gotta snag me an SG first though.

    Tubes...Again...

I'd say the guitar itself is the gateway drug, which leads to more guitars, amps, pedals, pickups, cabs, speakers, tubes, modules, strings, cables, bananas, capacitors, pots, cats, dogs, kitchen sinks, etc etc etc. Some people are lucky enough to come "full circle" and are just happy picking up...

some new Salvation Faceplates and Special Edition Mamba

I've decided to see what all the fuss is about finally. I sent out my module to become one of the last remaining slots of the Mamba SE run today. I was surprised at the prices on the price list. They were much lower than I anticipated considering how much Salvation modules go for used. I'm...

Video demo for the Voxless Mod

Just when I thought my VX was going to be suitable... I see this. Well I'm now needing to send Rob 3 modules. I'm headed to the poor house for certain. Fig, can you please make sure to show off some of the thicker tones of the Mark X. I'd really appreciate it. Also, should I keep that DLX I...

    salvation mods - website updated

I used to know guy who sounded like Schaffer with a 25.5 alder bodied bolt neck guitar and an Engl Savage. I forgot what cab and pickups he was using. He has a pretty heavy left hand which I think helped a lot.

Anyone try the Voodoo Express or Liverpool mods?

He definitely is a great guy to deal with. I've talked with him about some potential mod work before. The first time he actually suggested just getting a different amp at the time as it would have cost more to get the amp I was using at the time to the level I wanted it. Ah the joys of being a...

    Tubes...Again...

I don't personally agree with the "don't bother" thing. I must say though, some amps it makes a significant difference others it is make almost no difference. While decent quality tubes will produce good sounds, there can be variation depending on your amp/module. Some of us like to exploit...

    Tubes...Again...

I'm not quite sure man. The VX is actually a real Vox sound. It doesn't start to break up with hot humbuckers until about 4 or so & singles stay clean til 6. The drive is just in the mid gain at the highest setting.

Anyone try the Voodoo Express or Liverpool mods?

Ever play the real deal then? By the clips I've heard it seems to be a bit more agressive in the mids and harmonics, but not to the point that it'd be a no no for classic rock stuff. Kinda some where in the mid Atlantic in regards to sounding brittish or american.
