Hi, I'm new here and to MTS. I have a recording studio and I have been researching MTS for 5 hours now:) Sounds perfect.

Someone wrote that you can use EL34s for one channel and EL84s for another. Is this true?!?

Thanks

The answer for the RM50 is No, but you can do it with the Randall rack gear.
You cannot run different tubes on different channels in any of the Heads or Combo's of the MTS series (RM100, RM50, RM20).
But with the RT2 / 50 poweramp, you can do this and link it with the RM4 preamp.
With the RT2 / 50 poweramp, you can have different tubes running in either side (Eg: El34's on A and 6L6's on B). You can choose which preamp from the RM4 you want with which powertubes, so it could be setup like this
Module 1: Blackface(RM4) with 6L6's(RT2 / 50 side B)
Module 2: Plexi (RM4) with El34's (RT2 / 50 side A)
Module 3: XTC (RM4) with El34's (RT2 / 50 side A)
Module 4: Recto (RM4) with 6L6's (RT2 / 50 side B)

Below is the link to the RM4 and RT2 / 50 for you to check out.
