Well, got the fuses today, so I'm back up and running (for now). Man, I forgot what a pain in the a** the tolex can be! Stupid stuff kept rolling up when I was putting the chassis back in. I REALLY hope this is the last time I have to do this (I did buy a spare fuse, just in case). I'm thinking...

I really wish they made a 3-module version of the RM50.

I've heard a few comments here on the board about the RM50 sounding better than the 100. I've also heard the 50 and 20 have different transformers, etc. For those of you who own or have played the different RM amps, do you think the 20 and/or 50 sound better, tonally, than the 100? Obviously...

The Mr. Scary is a little rawer and not as bassy as the SL+. However, they can be dialed in to sound very similar. I prefer the Mr. Scary. Also, I've never had a Recto, but the Grail module kicks ***.

Well, after replacing a blown fuse (10A slo blo) inside my RM100 a little over a year ago, yesterday I blew the same **** fuse again. The real kicker is, last time I ordered an extra fuse, but it's been so long that I misplaced it. So I ordered a couple more from Mouser. Last time I ran all...

The same thing happened to my RM100 (the only problem I've had), and it was one of the fuses inside the chassis. Pop those out and take a good look at them. I'll bet that's the problem.

Me, too. I'm using EL34s with V30s in my RM100 and I run the presence at 3 o' clock.

Can't wait to see the switcher pedal for this! :shock:

I've always run my RM100 with the master cranked and the modules at 9 o' clock or so. Sounds much better to my ears to crank the master volume.

The main two I'm using right now are a Yamaha RGXTT Ty Tabor model and a Reverend Warhawk HB II. They both sound great. The Rev is a little punchier and louder, while the Yamaha is more versatile.

Mr. Scary is my favorite module! You'll love it!

That's the way I run my boost, too. I'm using a Bad Monkey with the gain off and the level anywhere from 3 o' clock to dimed. Like I said, the module gain is around noon-ish to 2 o' clock. Can't imagine needing more than that with a boosted high-gain module.

So are you guys saying you're maxing out the gain and then using a boost on top of that? Because my amp squeals like crazy if I do that. If I'm using a boost, my gain is never higher than 2 o' clock, as far as the more high gain modules are concerned.

did it lose the ability to clean up like it does in stock form? I talked to Dave about it, and he says there's a couple things missing, component-wise, in the stock Scary that he adds, basically giving the module more gain and low-mid growl. That sounds great, but I don't want to lose the...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I wrote that. I may have to let you work your magic on it. I also have a Brown that I need to send you for a little "mojo injection". 8)

I agree that it doesn't nail the true Bogner tone, but it has its own thing that I quite like, myself. If anything, it could use maybe a tad more clarity and gain, but that's it, IMO.
