I had almost the very same thing happen to me when I received my 1086. It just completely died out on me. Changed the preamp tubes, and now it's as good as new. Might be worth a shot if you haven't changed them out yet.

The RH50T isn't an MTS series amp so it won't take modules. If you're looking for a two channel switcher, the RM50 is the way to go :D

I think the Plexi has much less gain than the Brown, and has a clearer tone. I really dig the Plexi. Probably more so than the Brown. It's got a great punchy vibe to it. I'd say it's worth snagging one :D

An update on this... I cleaned out the unit, took the tubes out, inspected them, popped them back in, inspected the fuses, and although the fuses LOOKED good, one of them ended up being bad. Replaced it, and now the RT2/50 is running GREAT! Love the sound of this unit! I'm also thinking the...

Okay, so I got my RT2/50 running, and one of the tubes is weak and causing tube failure. Time to replace! :P I have a new set of Tung Sol EL34's that I'm going to put in one channel, and I'm leaning hard on putting KT88's on the other. I just don't know which ones to get. EH, Tung Sol, JJ...
